Position Overview

In your position as a Barista/Cook, you will be responsible for possessing an in-depth knowledge of coffee preparation procedures and processes outlined in the operations manual and the ability to carry them out with a high degree of efficiency. In addition, your responsibilities will include setting up kitchen workstations, measuring and mixing ingredients, and ensuring food is prepared according to our delicious recipes. We are seeking someone who is quick, diligent, and eager to learn on the job, bringing a positive attitude to the team every day.

Key Skills & Responsibilities:

• A demonstrated history of excellence in the coffee world, barista, drive-thru and/or restaurant industry.
• A genuine passion for making a difference and effecting positive change.
• Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to provide a friendly, welcoming, and personalized experience to customers.
• Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, maintaining composure under pressure.
• Leadership and teamwork skills.
• Ability to handle multiple orders and tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in operating espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee-making equipment.
• Knowledge of espresso extraction techniques, including shot timing and milk steaming.
• Adherence to strict cleanliness and hygiene standards, including maintaining a clean work area and equipment.
• Consistently complete all assigned tasks for a given shift with excellence, attention to detail and pride in the result of the work.
• Follow the daily prep list to ensure our kitchen is well-organized and ready for service.
• Label and stock all ingredients for easy accessibility and a seamless cooking process.
• You must be willing to learn how to taste and properly assess the quality of our espresso and coffee to ensure it meets the cafe’s standards throughout the day.
• You will be assigned as a barista team or kitchen team member but will be cross-trained to perform both roles.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
